The modern assessment practices and innovative pedagogies enabled students from CBSE schools in Common University Entrance Test (CUET). Delay in conducting CUET and limited awareness about the exam resulted in fewer admissions of students from state boards in the University of Delhi (DU).
After CUET-based admissions were adopted by the central universities, it was reported that more than 50,000 applicants from the CBSE schools got admission to DU in the first list. In contrast, only 342 students from the Kerala Board of Higher secondary education (KBHSE) got admission to DU colleges; 1,348 from the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB), and 1,057 from the Uttar Pradesh State Board of High School and Intermediate Education (UPSBIHE).
