2,000 NMMC Covid cots rust in rain

Nearly 2,000 hospital cots bought for Covid patients during the pandemic have been dumped in an open area at the site of a se-wage treatment plant in Belapur. Activists said that the cots, bought by NMMCm using taxpayers' money, are rusting and could have been sold or put to better use.

In all, NMMC had bought about 12,000 cots in an emergency some ready-made branded ones, others made to order. The cots kept in the open were made to order. About 10,000-odd of the branded cots have been kept covered under the Agroli flyover, Belapur.
