BJP making up for failures of past govts: Modi in HP

BJP is rapidly making up for lost time in terms of bringing to citizens all the perks of development that successive governments at the Centre and the states had denied them, PM Narendra Modi declared on Thursday while flagging off the inaugural run of the Vande Bharat Express from Amb Andaura in poll-bound Himachal Pradesh's Una to New Delhi.

"Our government is fulfilling the aspirations of 21st Century India. New India is overcoming challenges of the past and growing at a scorching pace," he said, also inaugurating the Indian Institute of Information Technology in Una, along with a slew of projects in the Una-Chamba belt, including a Rs 1,900-crore bulk drug park in Haroli.

Modi said Himachal being chosen as one of only three states in the country to get a bulk drug park was a "momentous" decision. "Now that raw materials for medicines will be produced right here in this hill state, India's dependence on other nations for this will decrease significantly. Bulk drug parks will give further strength to the government's campaign to provide quality and affordable medical care to all."
