The year 2021 saw a further dip in a number of complaints. However, the number of days taken by BMC to resolve the issues has risen, shows data released by NGO Praja in its report on the status of civic issues.
The report analyses the trend of citizen complaints and provides solutions to strengthen the public grievance system.
From 1.28 lakh in 2019, the number of complaints fell to 93,774 in 2020 and further down to 90,250 in 2021. The number of days to resolve the complaints by BMC in these three years — 2019, 2020, and 2021 — rose from 30 days to 39 days and 48 days respectively.
