Islamic outfit owns up M'luru blast

Mangaluru: A little-known radical Islamic outfit has claimed responsibility for the Mangaluru autorickshaw blast and said that the target of the botched operation was a temple in the coastal city, even as the Karnataka government formally handed over the investigation to the NIA on Thursday.

Mangaluru police said they will investigate the veracity of the note sent by Islamic Resistance Council. ADGP (law and order) Alok Kumar said the probe will also cover the activities of the alleged organisation.
