Mumbai: The BMC will modernise 16 of its existing hospitals in the city over the next three years and all equipment from its jumbo centres used to fight the Covid-19 pandemic will be utilised in these upgraded hospitals, municipal commissioner Iqbal Chahal said on Monday.
Chahal said that while Covid will not affect normal life anymore in Mumbai, a fourth wave may hit the city between July and September but it will be milder than the third wave and won't have any impact on the public health system or necessitate lockdowns.
