Tech must make justice accessible to all: PM, CJI

PM Modi and CJI DY Chandrachud echoed each other on Constitution Day, stressing the role of technology in making governance and the justice delivery system reach the poorest of the poor, the marginalised and women living in the hinterland.

"Pro-people policies have strengthened the poor, women and marginalised. Legislations and laws are being simplified. The judiciary is taking many meaningful steps for timely justice. E-initiatives of the Supreme Court and attempts towards ease of justice must be carried forward," the PM said at the Constitution Day function at the Supreme Court to commemorate adoption of the Constitution on November 26, 1949. "The justice delivery system must be accessible to all, the judiciary must ensure this," the CJI said calling for strengthening of the technological infrastructure set up during the pandemic.
