Thiruvananthapuram: Five years ago, Neethu looked lost as she leaned on a wooden door of her family home on Christmas eve, her mind possibly a muddle of emotions. Beside her was a photograph of her father Johnson, a fisherman reported missing in the sea when Cyclone Ockhi was raging a few weeks ago.
This December, just ahead of Christmas, Neethu is scheduled to take a flight to London to do her masters in business management at Middlesex University. Her elder siblings Nithya and Nidhi, both final-year BDS students, gave up their share of the relief they received from the state government to help her realise her dreams.
