Online MBA, BBA will make students from rural India more employable

UGC data shows an increase in enrolments for online education by 170% while open and distance learning (ODL) enrolments have increased by 41.7% from 2020-21. The data also shows the increasing popularity of online BBA and MBA. The enrolments in online courses have largely been from urban students and professionals, and students from rural belts should be encouraged to opt for it.

Revealing statistics

As per official data, BBA emerged as the most popular online UG course with 13,764 registrations in 2021-22. The course is followed by BCA with 5,166 enrolments and BA with 4,028 enrolments. At the PG level, MBA is the most popular online course with 28,956 enrolments, followed by MCA with 5,430 enrolments and Masters of Commerce with 3,300 enrolments.
