Promising justice to those affected, Modi said “the need of the hour is a detailed and extensive inquiry” to cover all aspects of how the renovated British-era bridge collapsed within five days of reopening, reports Nimesh Khakhariya. Presiding over a review meeting with officials and ministers, Modi said the authorities must stay in touch with the affected families and ensure they receive all possible help.

The PM also asked the administration to implement “key learnings” from the disaster so that something similar doesn’t recur.
