To build something out of nothing is a task both daunting and exhilarating, as Teresa Resch is finding.

"We knew this was going to happen, when the team is launched, you have a laundry list of things to do," Resch said in a telephone interview. "It's actually really exciting because we have an opportunity to start from scratch." It will not be a speedy process, though.

The team won't play until May 2026, and while many would like to know the name or be able to buy logo-emblazoned merchandise or find out how much tickets will cost, that's not the reality.

"I would say we'll have some stuff in the marketplace later this summer," Resch said of the calls for what the team will be named. "Not necessarily that 'this is the name' but we'll be more engaged with the public.
