Natural escape in heart of the city

The homeowners When Candice and her husband moved back to Toronto from New York City five and a half years ago, they wanted to be close to family. Other priorities reflected what they had loved about the Big Apple: walkability, proximity to excellent schools for their young children and easy access to public transit.
Natural escape in heart of the city

The backyard forms a beautiful oasis. There's a garden of flowers, trees that form a canopy over the yard and a deck.

Location 106 Gloucester Grove, Toronto Price $1,899,900

The single-detached house at Gloucester Grove, in the midtown neighbourhood of Humewood-Cedarvale, ticked all of those boxes. Its access transit is so convenient, they only have one car.

“The open, welcoming main floor is what initially sold us on the house,” Candice says. “When you walk in the house, there’s a sense of ease and warmth, which we love. We regularly host huge family dinners with 20 people in attendance. Having a space that could easily and comfortably accommodate all of us was a must.”

Although it’s older, the house has been meticulously maintained, extended and renovated throughout the years, and while very modern on the inside, it maintains the original charm on the outside.

“We love the nondescript facade, as we are a family that values our privacy and love that it blends seamlessly into the neighbourhood,” Candice says.
