Can you tell us about your journey in becoming a travel photographer?
Initially I was using just a mobile to do photography. I started with clicking flowers, colourful skies, macros of insects and anything I find interesting in and around home. Gradually I started stepping out during weekends to nearby locations. I live in Bangalore and exploring new places in and around Bangalore during weekends became a hobby. I would eagerly wait for weekends to execute my tiny travel plans. I love shooting in golden hours, so it needed lot of scouting beforehand. I would reach the location hours before sunrise/sundown and plan my frames. My brother or mom would accompany me many a times and waited for hours helping me in plan my frames and never discouraged me for shooting just with a phone.
Gradually, I started planning bigger and made plans with friends outside my city/state.
Being an IT professional, it's not possible to travel full time.
So, I now plan all my travels well in advance and balance both profession and passion.
I've also upgraded my gears to show the beauty of places I visit in high quality and in different perspectives.
Female travel photographers are quite rare, especially in India. Do you think being a woman is challenging in this field?
