A number of Canon mirrorless EOS cameras feature Raw Burst mode, used to capture dynamic action at the maximum shooting speed. Once you have taken a sequence of images, the individual frames are stored within a single Raw file on the memory card. It is necessary to select the frames to work with from the sequence and extract them for processing; this can be done with the camera or DPP.
Shooting a Raw burst is simple: enable Raw Burst mode in the camera menu, and also enable pre-shooting to capture a few frames from the half-second when pressing the shutter button, plus before you start taking photos!
Pre-shooting is great if you miss the start of the action by not reacting quickly enough.
When reviewing images on the camera, press the SET button to be able to scroll through the sequence of images. Scroll back and forth frame by frame to locate the best shot, then save it to the card as a processed JPG/HEIF or Raw image. Raw images extracted this way can be edited with DPP or other apps.
