ICC Cricket World Cup champions England were humiliated by New Zealand in match number 1 of the 2023 event in India. CONWAY SLAMS HIS 5th ODI TON, SURPASSES 1000 RUNS
Conway was at his sublime best and powered his way with an unbeaten 152. His knock was laced with 19 fours and three sixes. Conway has now slapped five ODI tons, besides also surpassing 1000 runs in ODI cricket. He has accumulated 1026 runs at 54.00. Against England, he has 293 runs at 97.66. Conway has also slammed his career-best ODI score.
FASTEST TO 1000 ODI RUNS FOR NZ
Conway is now the fastest to 1000 ODI runs for NZ in terms of innings (22). He broke the record of Glenn Turner (24 innings). Meanwhile, as per Cricbuzz, he has become the second-oldest to score a ton on World Cup debut at 32 years and 89 days.
