Rhythmic gymnastics is a challenging sport dominated by countries like China, South Korea, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan at the Asian level. However, with increased competitive experience, Indian players are beginning to perform well internationally.

Kimaya Karle, with over 120 medals to her name, is aiming for golden success at Asian and world-level competitions. In an interview with Sports Champ Magazine, she discussed her career and future aspirations.

Kimaya began her gymnastics training at the age of four, fully supported by her fitness-conscious parents. She trains under international coaches Pooja and Mansi Surve, along with her mother Smita Surve, at the Phoenix Gymnastics Academy in Thane. Her consistent performance at state and national competitions highlights her dedication and potential in this demanding sport.

Memorable Moments

Every athlete cherishes certain successes at national and international competitions. Kimaya Karle, a rising star in rhythmic gymnastics, shared some of her most memorable experiences.

“Though I couldn’t win a medal at the senior Asian Championship, my performance in the ball event was unforgettable. It was my first international senior-level competition, and I achieved the highest score among Indian players in that event. I had prepared intensively for a month, facing strong competitors from various Asian countries.
