SUNDERLAND head coach Regis le Bris was frustrated his players couldn’t build on two moments of first half magic that should have seen off managerless Coventry City at the Stadium of Light.

The Sky Blues bounced back from a two-goal deficit to earn a point by following up Haji Wright’s finish with Jack Rudoni’s late header. Sunderland had looked like extending the gap at the top of the Sky Bet Championship to four points until those blows. French striker Wilson Isidor’s brilliant volley was bettered by Dennis Cirkin’s 25-yard thunderbolt, but those efforts were not enough.

Head coach Le Bris, whose side have now drawn three games in a week, said: “It was a good first half for us. I wanted it like that for all the game. Our strength, qualities at home, in possession, we created many opportunities to score, with two fantastic goals.
