DANNY TO GET OWLS ON A ROHL!

FRESH-FACED Danny Rohl is going to need every bit of knowledge he's picked up from Hansi Flick, Ralf Rangnick and Ralph Hasenhuttl to keep Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship.

Bottom of the second tier after a disastrous start to the following campaign promotion last term, the Owls jettisoned Xisco Munoz a week and a half ago. The Spaniard failed to win any of his ten league games in charge and Wednesday went into the international break seven points from safety.

It's a perilous situation for a club riding the crest of a wave when Darren Moore now in charge at Huddersfield led them to play-off glory at Wembley last term.

The Yorkshire club could have been expected to turn to an old head to try to get them out of trouble. Instead, they've gone for 34-year-old rookie Rohl, who will be the youngest manager in the EFL.

In fairness, the German does have a decent pedigree. He has previously worked as an assistant at RB Leipzig, Southampton, Bayern Munich and the German national team.
