FREDDIE & JOVON LINK-UP BOOSTS THE IMPS

So you can understand why League One high-flyers Lincoln City were delighted when 20-year-olds Jovon Makama and Freddie Draper lined up in attack against Leyton Orient last weekend - and both got on the scoresheet in a 2-1 home win.

We caught up with both of them in the week to find out about their progress:

FLP: How did it feel for both of you to be in the team and to get on the scoresheet last week?

JOVON MAKAMA: It was really special. Me and Freddie have known each other for a while.

We were both at Derby before we came to Lincoln, and I playing against him before that when I was at Forest. We had a very good relationship on and off the pitch when we came to Lincoln and played alongside each other in the youth team.

I think it was our first league start together last weekend so it was good to get out there and show the fans and everyone else the real connection we have on the pitch and the impact we can both have in a game.

We've played together for so long that I know how he plays and he knows how I play. It's different than going into the team with a player that you're not used to so it definitely helps. It gives us both a bit of confidence to go out there and show everyone what we can do together.

FREDDIE DRAPER: You probably feel more comfortable when you play with players that you know and I feel like we've got that connection. Jovon probably complements my style of play. He likes to run in behind whereas I go more to feet so it's one of them where it works for both of us.
