Lions boss wants side to hunt points

MILLWALL boss Joe Edwards says it is too soon to say that the Lions are embroiled in a relegation battle.

The south-east London side won three consecutive games over Christmas to ease away from trouble but their form has collapsed in the last month.

Last weekend’s 1-0 reverse at Hull was their third defeat in four winless matches, and left Millwall just five points above the Championship drop zone.

“Relegation at the moment is not a word we use or even a scenario we’ve spoken about,” said Edwards, who took charge in October following the departure of Gary Rowett.

“I don’t say that casually because I do understand the concerns. I look at the table

and it’s obviously not early in the season anymore. The simple fact is we’re in the bottom section of the league with a group of teams who are in a position they don’t want to be in.
