NEW Fleetwood Town manager Lee Johnson says improving the supply line to ‘proven’ strikers Jack Marriott and Jayden Stockley is vital to reversing a pitiful start to the season.
The Cod Army took just one point from their opening six matches and began the weekend second bottom of League One.
Scott Brown’s 16-month reign as manager was terminated two weeks ago, with former Bristol City and Sunderland boss Johnson taking charge last Sunday, just three weeks after being sacked by Hibernian.
And the 42-year-old’s first objective is to improve an attacking unit that managed just three goals in six games.
“I want to play attacking football,” said Johnson, who will be assisted at Highbury by his former Yeovil team-mate Darren Way.
“I want to entertain and I want to create chances.
“My teams have always scored goals. I’ve had 20-goal strikers at pretty much all my former clubs. That’s because of the way we play, and because we create opportunities in the box.
