KIERAN McKenna pointed to a “job well done” as his Ipswich side finally saw off the potential banana skin of AFC Wimbledon, who played for the final half an hour with ten men.

McKenna relief as Town march on

Josh Davison’s eighth minute own goal put the Tractor Boys in front, but Jake Reeves levelled from the penalty spot nine minutes later after Jack Taylor had handled.

Axel Tuanzebe then restored Town’s lead with his first ever senior goal just before the break and after AFC Wimbledon’s Harry Pell was sent off for a second yellow card, Town put the seal on victory through Taylor a minute from time.

“It was a job well done,” McKenna said. “FA Cup third round away from home against a team doing well in League Two, so it had the potential to be a really tricky tie.
