After an electric start from Vale, Rico Richards opened the scoring in the 33rd minute, but Carl Johnston quickly levelled the match just three minutes later.
Moore’s side came out strong in the second half, with Ryan Croasdale restoring Vale’s lead before Ronan Curtis, who came off the bench, added a goal of his own.
“With this type of game, we wanted to dominate and we thought if we get the shape right and the personnel right we would cause issues,” said Moore after the game.
“We have highly-rated individuals who can exploit those and they did it.
“We have had to be patient, we wanted to get everyone on a page physically and now it has given them the mindset and mentality that we want.
