THOMAS LEAVES IT LATE FOR MARTYRS

The goal was the moment boss Paul Michael had been waiting for on an afternoon when Merthyr’s dominance might have gone unrewarded.

With the teams tied at 1-1 and Bracknell on course for a seventh home draw of the season, Thomas slotted home through the legs of goalkeeper Michael Eacott, probably the Robins’ best performer, to keep Merthyr’s lead over Gloucester City at the table’s summit stays at five points as a result.

“He showed great composure and we thoroughly deserved it,” Martyrs’ boss Michael said.
