It was sweet revenge for them given they had lost 24-15 at home to Cardiff in the URC just a fortnight ago.

Their prolific scrumhalf Gareth Davies crossed twice for the second week in a row to go level with regional teammate Steff Evans for the most league tries by a Welshmen, taking his tally to 54, while player of the match Ioan Lloyd landed four decisive shots at goal from fly-half.

Winger Harri Millard also claimed a brace for the hosts who ultimately had to settle for a losing bonus point after failing to capitalise on their twoman advantage in the final quarter.

Scarlets coach Dwayne Peel said: "From a character perspective, I am really pleased. Defending your line with 13 men is pretty savage and the way we managed that period was excellent.
