Apple was slow to introduce "lossless" and "hi-res" audio formats to Apple Music, and then it was forced to admit that its own AirPods - even the AirPods Max - weren't capable of playing music in those formats. If you're an audiophile who likes to hear music in the best possible sound quality then you need to consider non-Apple alternatives, such as Bowers & Wilkins' new Px7 S2.
