Cultivating Tomatoes Is Easy!

Tomatoes are easy to grow at home in pots and require very little maintenance. If you think all tomatoes are red, think again - they come in a fascinating array of colours and sizes. You can easily leave pots with a neighbour to water when you're away. Tomatoes are excellent sources of vitamin C and lycopene, a potent antioxidant, good for cardiovascular health.

The Freshest Food is the Best Food

Freshly picked foods are more nutritious than produce that's been ripened in storage or been left on a shelf for a while. That's why you can't beat home grown produce for optimal nutrition - but there are other benefits, too. Growing your own food is great for the environment and provides a real emotional connection with the land. Growing food can boost your mental health and induce feelings of well-being. Even if you don't have a garden, you can grow salad items in pots, or grow herbs on your window sill.

Strawberries

Once established, strawberry plants will deliver fruit for years. Get up to a dozen from a garden centre and place them in the ground with some compost. Keep them watered and they'll grow nicely. Strawberries are tasty, pretty in appearance, and they're full of great nutrition, including vitamin C, manganese, folate, potassium and fibre.
