We've had some splendid adventures together, wonderful cycling tours in various beautiful parts of the country. Trips to watch the All Blacks play. Nights out to see touring musicals. Weekends away in country houses to just relax and catch up properly with one another and mutual friends.
It had been quite some time since we'd packed our bags and left our respective families and headed off. "Let's go to Sydney and see Vivid!" Di said a couple of months ago. "We can get cheapish airfares if we go midweek. And Vivid is really worth seeing." "Okay," I said and booked the flights that night.
