Twisted candles

The most important thing when you're making twisted candles is to choose the right sort of candles. These days, you will often find dipped candles (white wax candles that have been coated with a wax of a different colour) and the issue here is that the two colours of wax will split as you create your twist. What you're looking for are solid colour wax taper or dinner candles that haven't been dipped.

It's also imperative that the hot water you use is around 40-50°C, otherwise you'll just melt the candle and your vase or glass will be coated in wax residue. The method here is a simple way to make chi chi design-style candles that can really be manipulated into all kinds of shapes.
