Things aren’t looking great for Richard Madeley’s future on Good Morning Britain. The veteran broadcaster, who has been filling in regularly since Piers Morgan quit two years ago, may find there are fewer slots available in the coming months after the news was announced that money expert Martin Lewis will be stepping into a regular position alongside Susanna Reid.

The news is sure to come as a blow to Richard, 66, who has previously admitted that he loves being on TV again. After all, could Martin’s bigger role mean Richard is forced out completely? In recent months, Richard has come under fire from viewers for the way he handled an interview with a teachers union leader and for misgendering non-binary singer Sam Smith. One viewer went as far as to say, ‘You’d get more viewers if you sacked off Richard Madeley.’
