In a relationship, men have a voice and women have a body.

The Unheard Voices

In a relationship, men often have a voice, while women are reduced the day we are born, we carry our voices, and it's not an issue until we grow up, especially as women. Society desires a woman in life, but one who comes with a mute button, without self-respect, identity, or a point of view. I learned long ago to raise my voice when I disagreed, and I discovered that speaking your mind is a powerful thing. Having your own voice gives you the ability to make others realise that your existence matters. With that realisation comes the recognition of the double standards that exist. A woman with a strong, convicted voice is often disliked by both society and the man she loves. It's frustrating to see that while boys are encouraged to assert themselves, girls are expected to fit in and be submissive.

I began working in media long ago, where there was a place for my voice, and I was even paid for it. Payment wasn't the point; what mattered was that my voice was celebrated, published, read, and most importantly, it made a difference. Despite my success, my parents disapproved of my work, but I stayed true to myself.
