Ghosting, when someone suddenly stops all communication, is especially painful because in the absence of answers, we often resort to self-blame, says psychologist Roxy Zarrabi. “Suddenly, you see your entire relationship from a different perspective, and you may start questioning what was real.” In the face of difficult emotions, she urges showing yourself compassion. “Envision what you’d say to a friend, and apply the same kindness to yourself.”
