Urine dark?
Your ability to gauge your thirst dips in the winter, causing your body to concentrate urine. The fix: Drink a tall glass of water with a pinch of sea salt if your urine is darker than the clear to light yellow it should be. Salt replaces electrolytes, making the drink more hydrating than plain water. This chases away low-grade dehydration that can cause fatigue and headaches.
Pink hue?
Rose-tinted urine (caused by tiny drops of blood) is a sign you're developing a urinary tract infection (UTI) that may progress into a kidney infection. In addition to meds your M.D. prescribes, sip four cups of hibiscus tea daily. Scientists say its gossypetin is more effective than cranberry juice at blocking bacteria from sticking to bladder walls. This calms an existing UTI and cuts your risk of future flare-ups.
