In this issue

I’m sitting down with a pen in one hand writing this, and a fork in the other eating a plate of noodles from the local take out. The girl I order from down there is pretty sweet so maybe that accounts for the amount of these things I get through… but, back to grease and oil changes, right? I’m not sure the world needs another custom magazine, only time will sort that one out, but I have tried to deliver something that will not only interest myself, but also a bunch of other like-minded folk. I guess I was born a gear head and will continue to live as one – come to think of it, I’ve never met any retired custom nuts. I’ve never heard, “… hi! I’m Ralph, a former chopper fanatic and drag racer!” So I think I’m correct in saying, it never just ups and leaves you. Unless you’ve gone mad. This first issue was put together on the smell of an oily rag and not much in the way of a budget, so please overlook my shitty spelling and so on, bearing in mind that this thing has been produced with a skeleton staff of one and the help of some very cool folk. Hopefully by the second issue I’ll not only have the bugs ironed out, but also have some more ads and hence, some money so I can go buy some more noodles. On a serious note though, we’ve got a solid issue of fumed up eye-candy ready to roll, along with some sordid adventures to boot. We take a ride in Matt Noble’s radical Mercury. Hitch a lift down south with Alex Gambino at breakneck speed. We then swap out for a leisurely drive in the Austin Speed Shop 55 Chevy. Elsewhere we take a look at Mooneyes Yokohama and check out paint guru Mat Egan’s Shoebox. We enjoy an afternoon tea with Michelle Minx, and throw in a set with Eagles Of Death Metal’s Jesse Hughes for good measure. Then we take some time out with the Mad Fabricator himself Piero De Luca and also take a peek inside Kiwi Kev’s shed. We’ll also find time to check out Richard Dabbs’ A Model chassis build. And more. Please enjoy refreshing Gas.
