She’s internationally recognized as a world class beauty and just co-founded a charity `Chime For Change’ with actress Salma Hayek-Pinoult and Frida Giannini.

In this issue, we are celebrating our young cover-model Kristy Evans, who is no stranger to Profiles98 Magazine. Kristy was introduced in our spring 2010 edition in the `Fresh Face’ section. This young lady is determined to grace the international stage of fashion. Along with model Kasean Taylor, they bring life to the fashions from a local outlet, Imagine the sister store to La Rose Boutique - Elizabeth On Bay, downtown Nassau. In this issue we also highlight the creations of designer Karolyn Ashley whose creations has been compared with some of the top International designers on the scene. The latest fashion news from New York and the world, including the winner of Project Runway, Trinidadian born designer Anya Ayoung Chee, are also
featured.

Gracing our cover is the beautiful Sudanese model Grace Bol. Her journey to the top has not been
an easy one, as she shares her triumphant story with us. Grace’s rise to fame and fortune reminds us that its all about the recovery of any situation that makes the difference. Out of the ruins of the
hurricane we will see a new and refreshing start on several levels.

So the similarity of recovery is showcased in one of our several fashion stories. A great new sense of style rising from the aftermath of the storm Tomas that wrecked havoc on the island of St
Lucia. Humbled by the powerful forces of nature, they too have risen into a bright bloom in the form of the renewed focus and allure of fashions from St Lucia’s top designer; Queen Esther. In contrast, the exquisite Cotton Bay Resort also on St Lucia welcomes the tasteful travelers to their slice of paradise.
Music and fashion is like a perfect couple that feeds off each other.

Like in another one of our fashion stories where the old, vintage style is still new, the same can be said about music. On these pages, three different generations are showcased; T-Connection, a funk and disco group from Nassau, Bahamas, from the mid 70s; Jamaican born Orville Richard Burrell, better known as `Shaggy’ is best known for his 1995 hit `Bombastic’ and the leading female in the music business today, Beyonce’ anchors our entertainment section. These talented musical icons really set the stage for what’s happening in the music world on a global scale. So, in the final analysis, the message in this issue of Profiles98 Magazine is all about rising from what seems to be a bad situation
and turning it into a positive recovery. Every situation, no matter how bad and dark it may seem, can be changed and made into something positive.....Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and start all over again.

TINA KNOWLES, a successful businesswoman in her own right and mother of superstar singer/actress BEYONCE’ owned and operated a successful hair salon in her native Texas for a number of years. She styled and dressed DESTINY’S CHILD from  their early beginnings and now runs THE HOUSE OF  DEREON FASHION LINE. Her newest venture, a fashion line labeled `Miss Tina’ creates moderately priced fashions for all shapes and sizes.

Meet the new `Miss Universe’ Ximena Navarrete of Mexico and read `What Happened In Vegas,’ along with dazzling images. Our fashion guru Walter Greene was on hand to bring you, our readers, full coverage, including a peek of what happened away from the actual pageant night with lots of `away from the pageant’ pictures of the stunning delegates.

For this issue, our crew shot in New York City, Nassau and Cat Island in the Bahamas. The cold and snowy weather in New York brought about massive flight delays that affected our wardrobe, models, schedules, deadlines and so much more. Needless to say, our creative director, fashion editor, make-up artist and fashion stylist fought through it all juggled between working New York Fashion Week, numerous photo shoots and interviews to make this issue come to life.

The tents at Bryant Park in New York, venue for New York Fashion Week for 16 years has come to an end. Next season will launch a brand new venue for the shows - Lincoln Center. Fall 2010 closed out Bryant Park with a grand finale’ that included the stellar production by our own Caribbean `uber’ super-model Naomi Campbell, who raised more than $1 million in a benefit fashion show for Haiti. She closed out the gigantic collection which feature 100 designers with a fitting tribute to her friend, the talented and innovative British fashion designer, Alexander Mc Queen who took his own life days earlier.

Perseverance is evident today as one of those individuals grace our Debut issue, and is now partner with our Modeling Agency and Magazine. Profiles98™ Magazine is a Bahamian based and operated magazine that came about through Profiles98™ Modeling Agency as a platform to introduce new models and talent.
