Leaving Kent on Easter Tuesday, Utrick W R Casebourne used overnight Anglo-Scottish trains to undertake a 2½ day round-trip to central Scotland that took in no less than 14 active steam sheds.

The diary writings of Leslie R Freeman from 2/3 June 1960 conclude a week of 1,485½ miles of rail travel, the Tiverton, Hemyock, Bodmin (General) and Bodmin (North) branches traversed before return to London.
