In this issue
Dear reader,
May I say you’re looking incredible after your summer
holidays. I hope you had a really fun summer and made some lifelong
memories. A heartfelt thanks for buying this issue - it means
a lot to all of us to have your support. We’ve put a lot of time,
energy and hard work into this issue so we really hope you enjoy
it. Huge thanks to our amazing team who have worked so hard
to bring you what you’re now holding in your hands – especially
Grace Cobb, our Creative Director (who has been with us since
our very first issue back in 2005) – and also our very newest
additions to the Wonderland family, Editor Jack Sunnucks and Art
Director Alistair Hanson, who is responsible for our new look.
We’re always trying to improve on our last issue, which
is never easy, especially because so much of what we want to
do relies on the help of so many people. Thank you to all of our
amazing contributing photographers, fashion editors, writers,
make-up artists, hairdressers and models, not to mention all
our really fantastic interns. Thanks too to all the hard-working
publicists who have helped us get time confirmed with their
talented clients – and of course to our advertisers, without whom
we wouldn’t exist.
This issue evolved slowly but steadily over the course
of a few months, and it’s fair to say that it doesn’t have just one
theme or big idea behind it but covers a lot of different things
we’ve found interesting of late. Our two cover stars, who happen
to both be British, are talented actors from two of the biggest TV
shows on the planet right now – Game of Thrones (Kit Harington
– p.164) and Downton Abbey (Lily James – p.154). I watch both
shows avidly and feel fortunate to witness what might come to
be seen as a golden age of television drama – one that seems to
have eclipsed almost anything the cinema has been able to offer
us recently. My advice is to embrace it.
We also have a load of new season fashion in this
issue for both the girls and guys out there - which is one
of the key things that makes Wonderland different from
other magazines. We hope you can find some inspiration,
information and entertainment in the pages that follow. Please
do join us on Twitter (@wonderlandmag) and Facebook
(facebook.com/wonderlandmagazine)and visit our website
(wonderlandmagazine.com) for fantastic video content (including
behind-the-scenes of our Kit shoot), competitions, news,
exclusive music and much more. Let us know what you think of
this issue via Twitter or Facebook, and tell us what you want to
see more of in the future.
See you again in November, and enjoy this issue until then.
