चैत का महीना है और भोर के पहले का अँधेरा है। मेरे बगीचे में रहने वाली बुलबुल और श्यामा ने अभी चहकना शुरू नहीं किया है। दिन गर्म होने लगे हैं लेकिन अभी हवा में ठण्डक है। उसी का आनन्द लेने के लिए सुबह की मीठी नींद छोड़कर बगिया में आ बैठा हूँ। घनी शान्ति पसरी हुई है। रात का जादू अभी खतम नहीं हुआ है।

होली के तीन दिन बाद आज घर में फिर से थोड़ी रौनक आई है। घर भी पूरा चमचमा रहा है। इस नए घर को और नया बनाया जा रहा है। सफाई खतम ही हुई थी कि दरवाज़े पर किसी ने दस्तक दी।
