New York's weather is cool and bright. Around the fashion show spots, stylish staff and fashion specialists put on another delightful show, as always. Which feature of New York attracts many designers? Its energetic vibe, its pride in its highly cultural environment, its people’s high purchasing power, and its strong business network have made this city a new fashion mecca, equal to Paris and beating Milan.

'Premium puffers' have been dominant winter outerwear since several years ago. 'Moncler' and 'Canadagoose' triggered this trend that paved the way from modern skiwear styles to arctic explorers and arctic nomad styles. 
Ethnic ponchos are also in vogue riding the same nomadic trend. Ponchos became noteworthy winter coats, coming in various styles from nomadic ponchos to modern capes.

Spring summer 2016 fashion weeks were all wrapped up. Paris fashion week was crowded with many celebrities, editors and fashion staffs. Louis Vuitton's new building that opened last fashion week looked like a new fashion shrine. Many designers' strongly express their feeling about the recent big change in fashion market, but overall atmosphere was so positive.

It was rainy on the first and second days of the Milan Fashion Week. Many in the fashion staff were mobbed by photographers, as always. This year, Milan Fashion Week looked shrunken, reflecting the European recession, but hope-filled vibrating busyness pervaded the show locations. Milan's unique positive and feminine fashion — thanks perhaps to its bright natural scenery — still dominated the street.  

NYFW spring summer 2016 has been kicked off. Many issues and changes had been making a buzz before the fashion week. The first issue was that the stages moved from 66th St. to Lincoln Center. Givenchy's show was the biggest talk of the town. As its flagship store was opened on Madison Avenue, Givenchy decided to head to NY for its show. The rumor that Caitlyn Janner would walk on the runway heightened the buzz. Caitlyn Janner is the new name of Bruce Jenner, who had been an Olympic medalist and the father of Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner, but who has changed his gender. The Row run by the Olsen twins chose Paris for their show stage instead of NY. DKNY fully entrust its show to two former Public School creators, without Donna Karran. Pop fashion dominates the fall 2015 fashion market. Moschino gained the spotlight in the fall 2015 collections with its lively and humorous runway featuring Walt Disney's cartoon characters and colorful baseball uniforms. Such eye-popping styles had been rarein public but they now occupythe center of public fashion reversing the fixed idea. LAP, Comingstep and Uniqlo also released Disney-collaborated or Pop artist-collaborated collections showcasing this mood. The street fashion also reflected the pop fashion boom. T-shirts were printed with various cartoon characters, and bags and hats also reflecteda cartoony sense. Fall 2015 new arrivals show a simpler tendency especially with dresses without drapery and cuts. These dresses are generally non-printed and look ultra simple, even rather stark. Why are these simple dresses widely popular? The simpler trends also inspire ethnic styles. Bohemian styles, the previously dominant ethnic look, are beginning to be replaced by Slavic styles pursuing ascetic chic. The spotlight is on the so-called 'Baltic' frugal chic. Fall 2015 products are now hitting the stores, at the height of summer. The most prominent tendency of the pre-fall products is “retro.” Hippie styles and vintage palettes revive old memories of the ’70s. Korean semi-formal labels targeting 25- to 35-year-old women currently focus on the ’40s to ’50s Hollywood glamour that is continuous this season.
