For our issue that bridges the end of 2012 and the beginning of 2013, we are featuring Mr Mass Yusof, Ms Shireen Lee, and Mr Koay Shao Peng; their unique artistic viewpoints are on full display within. Also, a report on our recent Art Tourism programme with a group of talented Shanghai artists, and a very insightful feature on a young art collective to look out for: the Cracko Art Group from Sabah! Finally, an inspiring selection of travel photography from the talented Jason Matthew Tye wraps up our first issue of the year.

October is a month full of excitement with our bimonthly publication that fuses art, culture and travel altogether. We are featuring Lok Kerk Hwang and his latest achievement that includes being juried into The American Watercolour Society’s 2014 exhibition - one of the most prestigious watercolour competitions in the world.

For Issue 27, readers will be infused with the best of both worlds as
ArtMalaysia is featuring two empowered women as our front cover feature
artists, Debora Teo and Honey Khor, a similar interesting approach that
we’ve done for one of the past issues. In addition, Shen Ru is making an
arty presence as the back cover feature artist to journey with us within the
depths of her experiential art.

Just flip over and browse through this issue; you may find that I am greatly
focusing on women in art. I just couldn\'t resist the temptation to make
this issue an unwavering platform to promote and elevate the prominence
of women artists who have produced such delightful masterpieces. In
fact, some of these featured artists are also participating in the upcoming
international art event, ArtMalaysia Art Tourism Fair that will fall on August
and carrying the theme \'Now Art is for Everyone.\' For those of you who are
not aware of the presence of multitalented local women artists, this is the
time for you to be completely enlightened with this new discovery.

With Christmas over and January fast approaching, many of us are already
beginning to think about making a resolution for the New Year 2014. As for me,
I’m working towards a continuous goal; in hoping that lovers of art can wake up
to a new masterpiece every day. As I begin to think about the year in art, I scroll
through 2013 with utmost gratefulness to all my acquaintances in the art field that
had contributed in making our major art events a thriving success.

In our Issue 24, readers will be enlightened with snippets of numerous art events organised by 1Malaysia
Contemporary Art Tourism Festival in collaboration with ArtMalaysia Asssociation, namely the ArtMalaysia
Art Tourism Fair that has garnered positive response from local and international shores.

Fourth year into running my art magazine, it is time to introduce the second new facelift that one can
witness from the front cover. During this time around, I’m still hopping on my Land Rover Defender to travel
around the country while continuing my visit to art galleries and featuring my fellow Malaysian artists.

We are very excited to bring you the 21st issue of ArtMalaysia, featuring such a wealth of artists and artworks as always! Adeputra Masri graces the front cover, Faizal Suhif’s mystical landscape on the back, and be sure to view Lim Su Wah’s colourful works of art that are sure to brighten your day.
