曾3度荣获亚洲最佳辩手殊荣的赛沙迪，自几年前开始在面子书批评政治弊端后，日益活跃于政治舞台，前年更与前首相敦马及23人联手创立土团党，并在创党后出任青年团团长一职。
于1992年12月6日出生在柔佛州新山埔来区、毕业自马来西亚伊斯兰大学的赛沙迪，在第14届全国大选预料将对上已胜选2届的巫统原任麻坡国会议员兼首相署副部长拉查里，相信也是本届大选柔州最年轻的候选人。
提名日未到，赛沙迪就已被对手揶揄太年轻，认为他没有能力带给选民更好的明天；他则认为年轻才是自己的优势，而政敌的言论已经激起他的斗志，会把这些话当成推动力。
