In this issue

For the first time in our 23-year history, we are celebrating the abundance of talent and diversity among our country's musicians and artists. It is inspiring to see that we can still achieve 'new' milestones even after being here for so long.

We feature Superstars Gary Valenciano, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Pops Fernandez and Martin Nievera on the cover. We pay tribute to these artists who paved the way and significantly impacted our vibrant and extraordinary music scene. While there are many artists we could have highlighted, we decided to showcase individuals whose careers have spanned over 40 years and who have set the standard for their talent and contribution to the Philippine music industry.

This issue also features a 20-plus page tribute to artists and musicians, including Tony and Olivier Awardee Lea Salonga, National Artist Ryan Cayabyab, the popular boy band SB19, classical pianist Cecile Licad and megastar Sharon Cuneta, to name a few. We also highlight the state of the movie industry as we speak to the award-winning director and chairman of the FDCP Film Development Council of the Philippines, Jose Javier Reyes. “If we want Philippine cinema to survive, evolve and be at its best and brightest, it has to be with everybody’s cooperation… We must have a national vision.”

We also have Jeremy Jauncey on the regional Tatler Travel covers of the Philippines, Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand. We can all but live vicariously through the CEO and founder of Beautiful Destinations as he assumes the role of co-chair for Tatler Asia’s inaugural Best of Asia event, in partnership with Tumi, which will recognise the region’s top restaurants, bars, and hotels—a tough job, but somebody’s got to do it!
