This June 2020, we are celebrating the 122nd anniversary of our Independence day.
I am sending you this message to encourage all of you to live, work, and serve the nation with integrity, influence, and harmony. Let us remember our heroes and martyrs who fought hard for our freedom. We should always be reminded of their heroism and uphold our duty of maintaining peace and sovereignty. The development and stability of our nation’s well-being is on us. The freedoms we enjoy are not free.

Amid all the issues happening in our country today, now more than ever, is the right time to ignite our deeply-embedded Filipino spirit. Let this milestone serve as reminder that we must always work together to protect our freedom as a nation — no matter what it takes.

With the constant change in the creative field, Perci Intalan paves the way to new and fresh stories through the art of film making. Imbibed with his creative prowess, continuously strives to be a multi-faceted talent and hopes to produce new films in the future.

Now more than ever, the LGBTQIA+ community has never been more loud. We’re beginning to see a re-emergence as the message gets clearer; they are here to stay. Village Pipol launched a Pride campaign “You Are” wherein any members from LGBTQIA+ community can participate. After hundreds of participants, each member gets to be highlighted on our official Facebook page, as well as through our other social media channels– sharing the message of pride.

On the other side of the spectrum, not everyone has a good support system. In the case of Ria Atayde, she gets her strength through the bond with her mother, Sylvia Sanchez. These mother-daughter star tandem was May 2022’s VP/Cover.

Despite the chaotic ins and outs of the pandemic, this gave us time to learn more about ourselves and develop a different perspective in life. Life is indeed short. There is definitely a lot to unpack. A million words we need to say. Deep breathes we need to master. But the Filipinos are known to be resilient. 

I am looking forward to better years. Yes, we maybe recovering from the reality of the pandemic, but reality is our battlefield. Stay close and listen, our voices will be heard.

This summertime, Village Pipol Magazine proved that there’s something in the warmth of this season. More than the vibrance of the tropical feels — the waves of power and stardom rage through our featured stories.

Consider yourself surfing in the waves, as we take a glimpse at the best-of-the-best stories in the months of March and April. 

Truly, 2021 was one heck of a ride, right? But look at us, we have clearly endured the tough twelve months, and we wrestled every hurdle like a champ!

As we embrace the new beginning brought to us by 2022, several of us are still finding our footing. We try to grasp how to execute our wonderful plans this year, yet, we have already delivered so much beauty and joy.

Here at the Village Pipol Magazine, we really did the most out of January and February.
The rising love team Althea and Bruce showered us with their undeniable charisma and chemistry, both on and offscreen in our January - February VP/Cover.

All of us have been blessed with the breathtaking beauty of the province of Albay and, readers have also been enchanted by the underrated gems of Metro Manila with these flower shop cafes. 

We have shared our insights about finding the right time to bring another human being into this world. It begs the question, "Are you truly ready?"

The magazine also aimed to educate people when it comes to the dangers of illegal drugs with an exclusive interview with a former doper.

This January - February VP/Xclusives brought us the genius of Mark Neto Diaz, encouraging inclusivity and diversity in the industry.

We also featured Silas who just debuted with a very catchy and refreshing song—Melting Vitamins.

When it comes to exciting tech, we did an in-depth review of the DIZO Buds Z. 
Last but not the least, P-Pop, indeed, looks promising as its monster rookies, VXON, emerge with their debut song, The Beast.

If these promising artists, beautiful places don't make you pumped up for the next coming months of the year, I don't know what will. 2022 really did start strong. Cheers to an amazing headstart!

'Tis the season to be jolly, indeed! The month of December certainly filled our hearts with the most joyful and fondest of memories. Here, in the Village Pipol Magazine, we celebrate with everyone the most wonderful time of the year.

Our cover story for October featured Kimpoy Feliciano and his rise to social media stardom.
Kimpoy shared his story of having a different dream before starting out in the YouTube vlogging industry.

However, after stumbling upon the craft of content creation, he started to believe it was something he was meant to do.

Furthermore, Kimpoy believed social media became his way to bring about positive connections and change to the online community.

In our VP/Xclusives, we told the story of the upcoming girl group CALISTA and how they plan to showcase their talents to their future audiences.

Moreover, we get to know the group and each member better before they shine in the local girl group scene.

Being a voice

Lastly, VP/Spotlight featured the story of famous social media star Pipay and her story towards online stardom.

Furthermore, she sheds light on content creation and how everyone can be a voice for good in the digital age.

For September, Village Pipol features people who show their passion and authenticity through their body of work.

Through our features, we learned how these two go together in persevering for your life goals through the stories of our September features actress-comedienne Faye Lorenzo, TikTok star Queenee Mercado, and actor-singer Kim de Leon. 

First, our September cover star Faye Lorenzo talked about her journey in show business, moving her readers on how passionate she was in pursuing her childhood goal, which is entering the entertainment scene.

Now, Faye moves readers to never give up on their dreams, as she believes the Lord always has plans waiting for people.

For our VP/Xclusive, TikTok star Queenee Mercado shared the story behind her TikTok stardom and how she wanted to showcase her authentic self in front of the cameras.

Queenee's story helps in inspiring readers to always show their real selves, even in this era of the digital age.

Now, Queenee inspires readers by loving what they see in the mirror, in relation to pursuing their goals in life as she continues her TikTok stardom while starting a beauty brand.

In our VP/Spotlight, Village Pipol highlighted the journey of GMA Artist Kim de Leon. It was there where readers saw how he put his dream of being in front of the cameras into a reality. This story showed how Kim put his passion into play by pursuing what he really wanted ever since he was young.

Lastly, Kim reminds people that not every journey will be a smooth ride, but all will be worth the wait if they continue to pursue it to grab the brass ring containing their goals and veering away from their comfort zones.

Truly, having passion and showing authenticity goes a long way in life. Through such, we can grasp our goals and learn a lot of lessons along the way.

August is a slow month. It stretches out the longest across the span of a year. Half of the year has already gone. And, there are only a few months left before 2021 ends. It seems this month has become the perfect time to make the most of the entire year. And, because it is a slow month, it yawns and lingers on - being considered the ghost month. The year is slow to alter to forget - due to the COVID-19 pandemic spanning across a few years. 

As a celebration, we feature Sam Pinto on the VP/Cover as she welcomes enigmatic motherhood. For the VP/Spotlight, we celebrate August as the Buwan ng Wika. Editor-in-chief Angela Baltan showcases Lala Vinzon in a beautifully crafted Filipino feature. Meanwhile, VP/Xclusive displays DJ Loonyo’s passion overruling his fear of entering the music industry. 

Truthfully, August has been a slow month. But, even then, we shall not regret the current tide that has come. May we continue battling against the steady mobility of this year. 

For the whole month of June, companies and organizations publicize their rainbow-themed logos all over the internet. However, the moment July comes, they revert to black and white. This month, we prove that Pride will never be over as Village Pipol Magazine proudly features LGBTQ+ content. We shall continue celebrating the community and stand together for the powerful moment of love and acceptance. 

For the special issue, we shine a light on a company that has started to release gender-neutral garments. Distinguished brand Avon Philippines showcase and produce cutting-edge and high-quality products. They strive to help members of the LGBTQIA+ community to feel seen, supported, and celebrated by relaying acceptance and inclusivity. Now easily attained with the new Limitless Collection, their gender-neutral intimates, setting to break standards for retail fashion. 

On the VP/Cover, Kokoy de Santos and Elijah Canlas unfold a bigger narrative as they continue to represent the LGBTQ+ community in mainstream media with the famed BL series, ‘Gameboys.’ Meanwhile, on the VP/Spotlight, Adrianna So proves that she emanates a golden spark as she points a magnifying glass on visibility and equality for the queer women in media, especially with ‘Pearl Next Door.’ VP/Xclusives, on the other hand, features two young women Ysabel Ortega and Liezel Lopez that continue to climb the ladder to success. 

We have come a long way competing for inclusivity, and we still have a lot of work to do. So, let us continue fighting the good fight.

Together, let’s promote every person’s individuality regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, and expression. Let’s deliver a message that an LGBTQ+ person's sexual orientation, gender identity, and expression do not define their whole being.

The sunshine feels warmer as the start of summer appears in whispers and hushed tones.

For VP/Cover, get to know the journey of social media darling Sachzna Laparan as a self-made CEO. Newbie star Yuuki Takahashi is now ready to conquer the local entertainment scene for VP/Spotlight. VPXclusives featured three women: Samantha Bernardo shared her preparations for the Miss Grand International held in Thailand. Miss Earth Philippines Roxie Baeyens expressed her hopes to lead other women on taking care of themselves and the environment. We are now in the last month of 2020, and I just want to congratulate you on surviving
this tough year. The past months have been really challenging for most of us, a year
that made huge demands on all of us — emotionally, mentally, and psychologically.
Despite what is happening in the world right now, let us not forget to still spread love and kindness this Christmas season.

Aside from being a season of love and giving, December is a moment for throwbacks and appreciation. Looking back at what we’ve been through this year, I must say only the strong ones could survive this roller coaster ride. Time flies so fast but all the learnings from this year will last forever.

In this issue, we want to send a message of hope that everything will be back to normal if we work together. Uncertainties can either make you feel hopeful or downright depressed, so we must learn to find in ourselves the motivation to live a life with purpose. want to survive such a disaster.

Empathy, on a very basic level, is what makes us human.

The new normal will be anything but ordinary.

This pandemic has started to build new barriers at overwhelming speed, globally
— travel bans, disrupted supply chains, closed borders, stricter import and export regulations. Globalization has fallen victim to this global chaos, highlighting the risk in overdependence in global supply chains. Driven by all the massive changes in people’s perception, government policies, and business world practices, the world — in various aspects — will dramatically evolve.
