We went to Darwendale Dam (Manyame) just to have a look and see the water levels etc so we could come back next time with the boat. As the first cast went in, a huge croc casually floated past on its way to the dam wall. I hope National Parks will put up signs warning people so all are aware and alert....
The African Fisherman Magazine Description:
Publisher: African Sporting Publications
Category: Fishing & Hunting
Language: English
Frequency: Bi-Monthly
The African Fisherman magazine is intended to portray Fresh Water fishing, from the many inland waterways to major rivers such as the Congo, Zambezi, Cunene as well as the great lakes of Africa from Nassa in the north to Tanganyika in the east, as well as Lake Kariba and Cahora Bassa. Due to our significant regional readership, editorial coverage of saltwater and coastal destinations (Mozambique, South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Angola and the East Coast) are included on a regular basis. Fish species are similar throughout the Southern Africa region, and much of the content is applicable to anglers anywhere in Africa, while exciting species like the tigerfish, and mighty vundu (reaching well over 100 pounds), are a natural focus. There is much cross border movement by anglers in the region, as well as an increase in visitors from off the continent, necessitating detailed information on destinations, accommodation and other tourism based facilities geared toward the angler. This magazine travels with them and is structured to offer a “shop window” to adventure angling in southern Africa. In addition to our regional readership we enjoy the support of hard copy readers in more than 30 countries around the world.
Our Mission Statement:-
The African Fisherman is published six times per annum by Mag-Set Publications (Pvt) Ltd in association with African Sporting Publications, as a service to the community, and is committed to the preservation of the environment and its angling resources. We support junior angling and a policy of selective harvest of all species, and catch and release of certain species, and the fostering of goodwill among all beneficiaries of these resources.
