This season is a powerful time to shine, manifest dreams and to embrace spiritual transformation.

Winter 2024 #246 - A tree cannot survive winter without healthy roots and neither can we. ‘Wellness Within’ is under the spotlight and we also feature ‘Cannabis Therapy’ in this bumper edition. Winter invites deeper reflection and is an opportunity to rest and reconnect with what’s vital in our lives. This edition’s wellness insets and features not only offer ways to enable our immune systems to thrive but also promotes wellness in all areas of our lives. We explore ‘Wealth Wellness’, asking, ‘Do you Money Well’? Odyssey’s Autumn Edition #245 explores ‘Conscious Choices’.
We all want to live well. But sometimes it’s hard-going: The media, our fast-paced society, technology and the responsibilities of daily life… It can be an overwhelming realisation that true wellness comes from within. In this edition we explore ‘Conscious Choices, the Power of Self-Awareness’, ‘Eco-Habitats, a Lifestyle Choice’ and ‘Wellness Travel’ alongside all of our regular segments.  Going forward we will bring you a new and innovative segment in which explore ‘Wellness within’ and all of its facets. We first have to attain wellness within, in order to experience optimal wellbeing for our unique body and being, essential for living an engaged, happy and fulfilled life.

The Odyssey Magazine Spring Edition #243 is themed ‘Arise Awake’. 
“Spring adds new life and new beauty to all that is”. In spring we are likened to a bud preparing to burst into bloom, able to arise awake, feeling the life force lighting up our personal spirit and we are filled with aliveness as is nature. Celebrating Women! August is women’s month, honouring all of the women in our lives we share a global conscious travel segment ‘When Women Gather.’

Autumn is a season for balancing light and dark, letting go and accepting the impermanence of things. A time to reflect, release and receive. 
     In this edition we explore the role of the ancient masters and their influence on the shamans of today. A Near Death Experience (NDE) segment asks the question: ‘Does consciousness extend beyond death’. Ecovillages are in the spotlight in two articles: An experiential piece ‘Living Intentionally in an Ecovillage’ and another, ‘Living and Loving Life’. Globally people are grappling with loneliness, isolation and, very often, food insecurity. Living in an intentional, traditional urban community enhances the social culture, alleviating many of these challenges. Our ‘Wavelength’ guest column brings home the stark reality of mental health.
    Home, parenting and relationships covers a vast range of topics including: Cultivated meat - a most contentious issue - conscious parenting and conflict resolution and intimacy beyond sexuality.

2023 - Time to recharge, reset and restart 
Living consciously and walking gently upon the Earth, sees us making sustainable choices that affect all aspects of our lives; these choices dominate our inner dialogue and decisions. What we drive, how we recycle, reuse and repurpose, what we buy, what we eat, how we work, engage and travel. What we listen to, view and read. In this summer 2022, 23 edition we place the spotlight on Enlightened Business and we feature Fabulous Fungi, exploring all things mushroom, edible, medicinal and psychedelic. When considering travel, environmental factors like carbon emissions, waste management and off-grid offerings are a dominant factor, as is the desire to support sustainable businesses and conscious communities. In 2023 we will explore travel options across our vibrant planet; in this edition, South Coast KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa’s Bali.

It’s springtime, time to awaken from our winter hibernation, renew and restore. 
In this edition we feature African Botanicals, Flower Power: Sharing how to make flower essences and highlighting the benefits of essential oils in the treatment of mental health. This edition is also packed with uplifting and inspirational writings for nourishment of body, mind and soul.

Odyssey Winter Edition #238   
Thich Nhat Hanh left the earth plane in January this year; this renowned ‘father of mindfulness’, passed at the age of 95. The celebrated Vietnamese Zen Buddhist monk, poet and peace activist was known throughout his life for the practice of ‘engaged Buddhism’. He also authored many writings, including a collection of insights titled How to Love, the inspiration for this feature in this edition. We also feature Vietnam in our eco-travel segment.
What is love exactly? It has been defined and redefined ad nauseam, its psychology has been dissected and applied to philosophical frameworks and - did you know? - a mathematical formula has been devised for attaining it. And yet anyone who has fallen in love - or out of love, for that matter - knows that love remains elusive, the most confounding mystery of our human experience.
Showing up and facing off with this mystery take us into the real and raw of aspects our being, often unwittingly into a primal dance of life.  We commence this dance solo, with ourselves first, self-love is the purest and most powerful love of all and most of us need a ‘kick in the pants’ in the self-love and self-esteem departments. 
Music therapy takes centre stage. In this edition we take a look at music therapy, recognised as a mainstream therapy to help individuals address physical, emotional, cognitive and social needs.
Winter places the spotlight on professional coaching, asking the question: What is coaching really?

In the autumn 2022 edition #237 we feature Ayurveda, one of the world's oldest holistic healing systems. In Ayurvedic tradition autumn is ruled by the airy, mobile Vata dosha and, whether you love autumn or dread winter, you will feel more balanced with a few simple nutritional and lifestyle changes that the principles of Ayurveda support.  We place the spotlight on ‘Walking with the Masters’ and feature Paramahansa Yogananda, considered one of the pre-eminent spiritual figures of modern times and BKS Iyengar, founder of Iyengar Yoga, featured in a 1979 Odyssey interview and since his passing his influence is still apparent. In 2004 Iyengar was named by Time Magazine as one of the hundred most influential people in the world.
    Then we travel from ancient times and Ayurveda to present day, highlighting the modern practice of Biohacking, an underground movement founded in 2000, that is now open, accepted and practised by millions of people around the globe and in South Africa.

Relationships and sexual intimacy feature from a Tantric perspective and we share the ‘10 Commandments of Attraction’ with you.
Meditation, self-care, self-love and the need to release in order to move forward and just to ‘be you’ come under the spotlight in this edition. Life Alignment is our modality of choice and we introduce you to the incredible field of neuro-coaching which embraces the very latest neuroscientific research.  In our conscious parenting segment we explore how the Enneagram promotes better parenting. 
As always we take you on a journey to our eco-destination of choice and in this edition we find bliss in the tranquil and pristine Seychelles Islands. Salads take the centre stage in our food segment and we introduce you some plantaliscious vegan smoothies and light meals for poolside festivities, ‘Tis the season after all!
