The hunting season is in full swing, and in the May issue we bring you quality articles on rifles, ammunition, product tests and good hunting stories. The Franchi Feeling Sporting shotgun is in the spotlight in the March-April 2024 edition of SA JAGTER/HUNTER. Editor Francois van Emmenes took it on a recent shoot and gives his impression. In SA JAGTER/HUNTER’s November/December 2023 edition, hunters share the challenges and joys of hunting blue wildebeest, grey rhebuck, warthogs and sable. The cherry on the cake is the announcement of a new competition to win a hunt in the Kalahari’s red dunes.

An eland proves to be a challenge for an experienced hunter, and an expert gives advice on bowhunting on small farms. The role of hunting in conservation also comes under the spotlight.

In the August 2023 edition of SA JAGTER/HUNTER the many possibilities of the Howa 1500 carbon fibre barrelled action in 6.5 Creedmoor are discussed. August being Women’s Month there is a special women’s “Bokspog” as well as hunting stories by women hunters. Nosler Trophy Grade ammunition is put through the test.

In the July edition of SA JAGTER/HUNTER, Hubert Montgomery discusses John Rigby’s medium-bore magazine rifles – the three-fifties. Some nifty gunmaking transforms an “ugly duckling” Mauser rimfire into an elegant little rifle with finesse and Pierre Marais tells of an unforgettable stag hunt with a bunch of tough Scotsmen. We also test IMR 4350 propellant and the Steiner Ranger LRF 10x42.

In the June edition of SA /HUNTER, the Savage Model 110 Tactical Desert in 6.5 PRC gets a closer look. A case is made for the hunting of female animals, and we discuss the use of high-magnification scopes. For the wingshooters, there is an article on hunting spurwings with the help of dogs.
