Exciting times lie ahead for Willie Mullins after Footpad’s impressive victory
THE Irish action at Leopardstown was both informative and dramatic. Willie Mullins has a serious two-mile novice chaser on his hands in Footpad who, after winning impressively at Navan, ran out a smart-looking winner of the Racing Post Novices’ Chase, beating Any Second Now 11 lengths under Paul Townend.
“The first time we schooled him over fences he was electric,” said Mullins. “He was electric at Navan and again today. He loves jumping and gained lengths at his fences today. He’s a very exciting novice and we’ll bring him back to Leopardstown for the Irish Arkle on 3 February.”
