NICKY TOLLAFIELD’S BE90 winner, Centauras, is not so much a jack of all trades; he’s a master of many.
The 11-year-old coloured cob gelding, owned by Michele Cooper, enjoyed success in the show ring before turning his hand to eventing and dressage. He qualified for the Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) on several occasions, most recently in 2016 when he finished in the top 10.
“Michele decided it was time for ‘Obi’ to have a change of career, so he lost 40 kilos over the winter and reinvented himself as an eventer,” explained Nicky, who had helped her friend keep the gelding fit between shows before taking him on on a more regular basis.
Obi is also excelling in the dressage arena and recently qualified for the novice silver freestyle at the British Dressage winter championships.
