Good flying changes secure a silver win for Jo Curling, while a long-legged novice shows potential for prix st georges
A WINTER spent practising flying changes has paid off for Jo Curling and Keystone Renaissance (Mika). They won the medium silver with 68.83% and also took second in the advanced medium bronze, earning sevens across the board for their flying changes and consistent comments from all three judges.
“Mika’s medium was very calm and relaxed and he’s now at a stage where I can ride for extra points,” said Jo, who keeps her 10-year-old Keystone Rhondeo son on DIY livery and fits him in around a full-time job. “We spent the winter training the changes and he’s only done four advanced mediums, but with good scores every time.”
Charlotte Blain (known as Pip) claimed first place in the advanced medium bronze riding Jan Palmer’s 11-year-old Donatella IV (Roo).
