Bibelot, designed by Rahul Mistri, Founder and Principal Designer, Open Atelier Mumbai, is the home of a well-known celebrity and event manager in the queen of Mumbai’s suburbs, Bandra. And its design is an amalgamation of different styles that co-exist together beautifully.
A SHOCKING MIX-UP
The home is rather intimate and yet diverse. Considering the family is an amalgamation of different cultures, it was necessary to bring in an essence of all the cultures into the space rather than going for one particular style. Every room is custom designed for the family member occupying it. Concrete flooring with liquid metal in the living room to rattan furniture in the bedroom and retro style spaces, the home is a mesmerizing coming together of a hybrid design language.
CULTURAL RESONANCE
The arch in the living room with a mirror in the background is a combination of the Maratha and Rajasthani styles. A large peacock painting done by an artist on board in the living room portrays a bond which should be reflected in any family.
